Obituary

Aaron Daniel Speas, 34, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina passed away in Winston-Salem on April 12, 2023.

Aaron was born February 21, 1989, to Kym Speas Wooten of King, NC. He obtained his GED from Maryland College in 2010. Aaron spent many summers in Emerald Isle and Swansboro, NC, and loved the beach, his family, and rap music. He worked in construction and enjoyed working on cars. He loved spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his father Mark Speas, uncles Christopher Calloway and Ezra Byrd, Aunt Susan Griffith, Uncles Randy Mabe and Randy Severin, Great Uncle Clyde Aldridge, Great Aunt Katie Westmoreland, cousin Curtis Mabe, grandmother Beverly (Madre) Siverly and Helen Speas, his Grandpa Red Beard and Hoover Speas, and his Grandpa Douglas (Duck) Calloway.

He is survived by his two children Olivia Kimble (10) and Xavier Presa-Speas (6), mother Kym (Charles) Wooten, four sisters Mindy (Jordan) Shamp and nephews Riley, Dayna (Marcus) Bryant and nephew Tyson, Leslie Collins and nephew Levi Wright and niece Morgan Wright, Gabrielle (Anthony) Martin. Brothers Dakota Speas and Christopher Mabe, Step-father Royal (Puddin) Siverly, Aunts Carla Byrd and Tenia Anderson, Jill (Tony) Siverly Atkins, Debbie (Tom) Vest, Uncles Ronnie Siverly and Jack Westmoreland. Step-sisters Christen Richards, Jessica Dominguez and children. Step-brothers Cameron and Matthew Wooten. Grandparents Mary & David Hooper, Great Aunt Martha Aldridge, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friend Marcie.

A private memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 23rd, 2023, in Yadkinville.

    Aaron cared deeply for his family and spoke of his sisters often. He was a very good dad and did his best. He wasnt the best at building but he enjoyed his time helping us.
