Obituary

Angela S. Watkins, 43, beloved mother, wife, grandmother and friend, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 6, 2014, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. She was born June 9, 1971, in Pinehurst, NC to Zoe Ann Herring and Gregory L. Stevens.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Charlie and Opal Stevens, Lee and Fanny Lemons.

Surviving are her husband of 16 years, Dillard Watkins, daughter, Zoe Anna Watkins of the home and daughter Kristian Lynch (Christopher Lynch); grandchildren, Charles and Nathaniel; mother, Zoe Ann Herring; father, Greg Stevens; sisters, Sherry Stevens (Lee Player), Pamela Rumley (John Thomas Rumley); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

At an early age Angela developed a lifelong love of reading. Always seeking out knowledge and encouraging those around her to further their education, follow their dreams, cast out doubt and believe in themselves. Angela fulfilled her goal of becoming a registered nurse in 2004. She was driven by her passion for nursing, educating others about their profession, as well as advocating for her patients and their families. The lives she touched are countless. She will always be known for her willingness to lend a helping hand, her infinite strength, loyalty, dedication, but most importantly, her fearlessness.

The Watkins/Stevens family wishes to express their gratitude to Angela's coworkers at Alamance Regional ER for their compassion, kind words and support. Angela's life will joyfully be celebrated Saturday, July 19, from 1 to 3 PM at The Cutting Board, 2699 Ramada Road, Burlington, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in Angela's honor at BB&T for her minor daughter. Checks may be made payable to Zoe Anna Watkins, 848 Old Dam Road, Liberty, NC.
