On April 10th, 2023 Barbara Ann gained her Halo and transition home.

Barbara Ann was born April 25th, 1953 to the late Beulah Howell and Howard Spates of Harlem New York.

Barbara attended and graduated from Louis D Brandis High School as a child and received her BA degree in Theater Arts from City College of New York. Barbara was a talented dancer. She studied dance for over 18 years, besides dancing she loved to travel and watch musicals, crochet, and theatrical plays. She volunteered for over 20 years at the Mays Design Club organization where she got to showcase her talents with backstage direction. Barbara was known to be a second mom to others. When they couldn’t go home she made them feel like her home was theirs. She proceeded in death by her sister Sarah Jane. Barbara married early to George Roberts. Barbara leaves behind a legacy for her five children. Traci Jones, Roxanne Martin (Naigash) , Clair Carter (Breon), Tristan Roberts, and Janessa Leeper (Jeremy). Nine grandchildren Aiden, Parish, Reese, Nasir, Logan, Nolan, Phoebe, Natalia, and Roman. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023. At Triad Cremation & Funeral Service, 2110 Servomation Road Greensboro, NC, 27407.

The visitation will start at 1:00 PM followed by the Service at 2:00 PM.
