Obituary

Barbara Carter Long, (57) passed away peacefully on February 13, 2014 at Beacon Place after her battle with an extended illness. She was born on August 4, 1956 in Greensboro, NC.

Barbara was predeceased by her father John D. Carter. She is survived by her daughter, Julie T. (James) Edwards; her granddaughter, Tayler F. Edwards; her mother Sarah M. Carter; her sister Karen C. (Kerry) Hensley; her brother John D. (Debbie) Carter; and her twin sister Sarah C. (John) Grooms.

She will be missed by many family and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 20, 2014, from 6-9pm, at Living Waters Baptist Church, Greensboro NC.

Cremation services are entrusted to Triad Cremation Society and Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Beacon Place Program of Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.

I have written a condolence on the newspaper obituary to express my deep sadness in the loss of Barbara. I loved her very much from the first time I met her as my Team Leader at Bank of America. She was a marvelous individual who exhibited only the very best at everything she undertook. I shall miss her very much. My deepest sympathy to the entire family.
