Betty Beddingfield Hoover, 88, formerly of Burlington, passed away peacefully Friday, December 6, 2013 in Thomasville, N.C. Betty was born August 27, 1925 in East Flat Rock, N.C., to the late Luther and Grace Beddingfield. Betty was a beloved wife and mother. She attended St. Stephens High School in Hickory NC and later received her RN from Grady Memorial School of Nursing in Atlanta, GA. She practiced at Dula Hospital in Lenoir, NC for several years before leaving the field to serve her family. Betty was a long time member of Brookwood Church where she taught Sunday School and served in many other capacities.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by six brothers and sisters; Maybelle Smith, Ruth Honeycutt, Lois Beddingfield, Pearle Walker, James Beddingfield and Luther Beddingfield, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Earl Hoover of Thomasville, NC, her daughter Cindy Storey and son-in-law Joel of Durham, NC, her son, Chris Hoover and daughter-in-law Karen of High Point, NC. She also has five grandchildren: Zachary, Cameron and Graham Storey, Drake and Mackenzie Hoover.
Visitation will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, December 10 at Brookwood Church, 1606 West Davis Street, Burlington.
