Obituary

LIBERTY — Betty “Jean” Jones, 56, of Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at Randolph Hospice House.

Jean was born March 1, 1958, in Davidson County to Lee and Virginia Duty. She loved music, the Dallas Cowboys and play with her grandchildren and her dog ”Bear”.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Daniel Brown.

She is survived by one son, Brian Duty of Liberty; and one daughter, Brittany Duty of Liberty; three grandchildren, Destiny Skye Greene, Brian Alexander Duty and Victoria Linn Smith; fiancee to Brittany, Shamar Alston; mother, Virginia Duty of Asheboro; two sisters, Nancy Barts of Ramseur, Ann Willard and husband Charles of Sophia; six brothers, Roger Duty and wife Rose of Louisburg; Bill Duty of Asheboro, Johnny Duty of Denton, Jesse Duty and wife Crystal of Knightdale, Jimmy Duty and wife Tammy of Ramseur, Larry Duty and Alicia of Raleigh; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Lakeside Park Church of God in Franklinville.

The family will receive friends prior to the service and other times at the residence of Virginia Duty.

Memorials may be made to Randolph Hospice House.  Cremation services are entrusted to Triad Cremation Society of Greensboro, N.C.
