Carol “Kim” Shackleford, beloved mother, sister, grandmother and cherished friend, passed away on June 25, 2023, at the age of 58. Her warm heart, unwavering support, and genuine kindness will forever be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on November 21, 1964, in Greensboro, North Carolina, Kim was a proud graduate of Smith High School. Throughout her life, she embraced her passions and found joy in the simplest of pleasures. Kim was an avid fan of NASCAR and football, and her enthusiasm for these sports was contagious. Whether she was cheering from the stands or watching the events at home, she immersed herself in the excitement and camaraderie they brought.
Beyond her love for sports, Kim’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother who poured her heart and soul into her children, providing unwavering love, and endless support. Kim’s nurturing nature extended beyond her own family, as she had a remarkable ability to be the kind of friend everyone wished to have. Her genuine and caring personality touched the lives of those around her, leaving a lasting impact that will be treasured forever.
Kim will be remembered for her warm smile, her compassionate spirit, and her ability to make everyone feel valued and loved. Her legacy of kindness and support will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.
Kim is preceded in death by her mother, Patricia L. Cox. Father, William P. Cox.
She is survived by her daughters, Hannah Shackleford (Garland), Jessica Romine (Michael) Her memory will also live on through her grandchildren: Zachary Romine, Nicholas Romine, Levi Romine, Ryan Romine.
A memorial service to celebrate Kim’s life will be held on July 15th, 2023 2pm at Sheraton Park Free Will Baptist Church.
