Charlotte Dura Whitsett Jones, 57, was called home on December 7, 2013. She was born on September 23, 1956, in Greensboro, NC to Ms. Doris Mae Whitsett and the late William M. Cummings. She attended Guilford County Schools and Rutledge College.

She was employed by Steele Heddle, Greensboro, NC. She worked for Sears Corporation and a manager at Extended Stay America Hotels. She was called to Christ at New Calvary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend Curtis Carrington. She later joined her family at the Fruit of the Spirit Holiness Church, Pastor Bishop Horace C. Baker. Lastly, she joined Love and Faith Christian Fellowship Church, Pastor Michael Thomas where she was a member of the Hospitality and Greeters Ministry.

Charlotte was little in stature, but had a big heart. She was very loving, energetic, funny and was a joy to be around. She loved to cook and she loved to eat. She adored her family and cared about everyone around her. She was a Gospel Promoter with C & J Promotions (Cummings & Jones). She was a giver and her life exemplified that, especially during Christmas time. She was known to play Santa on Christmas Eve, delivering gifts.

She was preceded in death by her father, William M. Cummings.

She leaves to cherish her memories; her daughter Iris Whitsett Mangano (Minister Michael), mother Doris Mae Whitsett, Three sisters, Vanessa Snipes (Thurman), Myra Inman (James), Marion Crouch, Two brothers, Felix Whitsett (Kimberly) all of Greensboro, NC and William McArthur Whitsett, Burlington, NC. Three grandchildren: Ayanna, Cameron and Jordan Mangano. Two aunts: Elfredia Whitsett and Dorethea Leath. Four uncles: James Whitsett, Harvey Whitsett, Marion Whitsett (Judy) and Napoleon Whitsett; three very special friends Mr. Lewis Stewart, Mrs. Synthia Watkins, and best friend Mrs. Cynthia Kelly Jones, AND a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
