Obituary

 

Dale Weston Johnson, Sr. , 75, died Monday, December 23, 2013 at his
residence following a lengthy illness. 
 
A Greensboro native, Dale attended Greensboro Senior High School and
Guilford College.  He excelled in many sports and was a member of National
Ski Patrol, North Carolina football all-stars, and state champion wrestler.
 
Dale was married to the former Elizabeth Ann Hodges of Greensboro,where they
made their home for over 54 years.
 
With his son, Eric H. Johnson, Dale founded the former Southern Splice
Company of Greensboro, NC.
 
Dale was pre-deceased by son, Eric H. Johnson of Stokesdale, NC,  parents J.
Stanley and Mozelle Weston Johnson, and sister Jane Johnson Hartig all of
Greensboro. Survivors include:  wife, Elizabeth of the home, son Dale Weston
Johnson, Jr. Of Burlington, NC, daughter Gretchen Johnson Anderson and
husband James of Greensboro, NC., sister Frances Johnson Boyles of Southern
Pines, NC, brothers Stanley Johnson of Greensboro and Owen Johnson of Loris,
SC,  sister-in-law, Susan H Woodlief of Garner, NC, daughter-in-law, Karla H
Johnson of Stokesdale, NC,  eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren,
many loved  nieces and nephews, family members and friends.  
 
Memorial Service to be held Thursday, December 26th, 12:00 PM, First Christian
Church, 1900 West Market Street, Greensboro, NC.  Visitation will take place 11:00
am in the church fellowship hall, prior to the service.
