Darrell J. Watson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on August 14, 2023, at the age of 60. The son of Enoch Watson and Maxine Watson Glover, He was born on October 26, 1962, in Davidson County, North Carolina, and peacefully departed in the same county where he was raised.

Darrell cherished his family above all else. His love for his wife, Debra Watson, was unwavering and served as a true testament to the depth of their bond. Together, they built a life filled with love and devotion that will forever be remembered. Darrell was a proud father to his sons, Daniel, and Matthew Watson, who brought immense joy to his life. He adored his five grandchildren and found great happiness in their presence.

A man of faith, Darrell was a member of the Baptist Faith and held a deep reverence for the Lord. His spirituality guided him through life, providing him with strength and solace in times of both joy and adversity.

Darrell had a passion for fishing, finding solace along the peaceful shores of lakes and rivers. It was during these quiet moments that he felt closest to nature and cherished the beauty of the world around him. His love for fishing became a lifelong pursuit, and he passed on this passion to those close to him.

Darrell was known for his beautiful smile, which brightened every room he entered. It was a reflection of his warm and kind-hearted nature, bringing comfort and happiness to those fortunate enough to know him. He had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved, leaving a lasting impact on their lives.

Darrell is preceded in death by his father Enoch Watson, Shelby Keyser Johnson and Brenda Watson,  loved ones who have gone before him. Though his passing leaves behind a void that cannot be filled, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his surviving family and friends. He is survived by his wife Debra Watson, sons Daniel and Matthew Watson, five beloved grandchildren, mother Maxine Watson Glover, and five sisters: Shirley Worley (Charles), Wanda Sink (Jerry), Barbara Sechrest (Darren), Cathy Coltrane (Craig), and Deborah Holder (Brent).

A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate the life of Darrell J. Watson will be held on August 19th, 2023, at 1:00 PM at New Heights Baptist Church, located at 5082 Meadowbrook Drive in Trinity, NC. During this time, family and friends will come together to share memories, find solace in one another, and pay tribute to a man who brought so much love and joy to their lives.

Darrell J. Watson will forever be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his passion for fishing, and his deep faith in the Lord. His presence will be greatly missed, but his spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all those he touched.
