David Alan Simmons, age 56, of Reidsville passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on June 29, 2023.
He was born February 7, 1967 in Roanoke, Virginia the son of the late Woodrow “Woody” C. Simmons and Betty Sue Fayne Varnell. He is also preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Crystal Simmons; and a brother, Randy Scott.
David was an avid outdoors man, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, going four wheeling and being on the boat. He worked with Greensboro Auto Auction for over 28 years and had an affinity for cars, boats and working on golfcarts. When he wasn’t working, he could be found surrounded by his family and close friends in the Outer Banks or at Smith Mountain Lake.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 34 years, Jamie Coffey Simmons; children, Sheldon Simmons, and Samantha Simmons; grandchildren, Cole Simmons, Jacob Ryan, Elizabeth Lemmons, Issabella Lineberry, Camden Allen, Serenity Simmons, Kayelin Simmons, Emmett Hughbert, Kaleb Hughbert and Gage Simmons; sisters, Wanda Dell and Terry Cooper; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
