Obituary

Deryck C Poyser, born on November 17, 1952, in Jamaica, peacefully passed away on July 30, 2023, in Guilford County, North Carolina. He was surrounded by his loved ones during his final moments. Deryck lived a fulfilling life, making an impact on those around him through his various interests and unwavering love for his family.

Throughout his years, Deryck found joy in dancing, karaoke, debating, watching sports, and keeping up with politics. These passions brought him happiness, allowing him to connect with others who shared similar interests. His vibrant personality and enthusiasm were contagious, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Deryck received his education at St Andrew Technical High School, where he honed his skills and became a master electrician. Deryck’s expertise in his field was respected and admired by those who witnessed his dedication and commitment to his craft.

Deryck will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Denise Poyser, who stayed devoted to him throughout the years. He leaves behind his brothers Clive Poyser and Michael Poyser, as well as his children: Sherine Poyser, Patriena Poyser, Peta-Gay Poyser, Pete Poyser, Sean Poyser, and Dorien Poyser. Additionally, he will be fondly remembered by his three stepchildren: Dale Wolfe, Nardian Wolfe, and Shaniel Wolfe, and his many dear friends.

As a cherished husband, brother, and father, Deryck adored his family and treasured every moment spent with them. He also had the joy of being a grandfather to 11 grandchildren, and a source of love and guidance for his five nieces and one nephew, along with six grandnieces and two grandnephews. These precious relationships brought him immeasurable happiness, and his memory will forever be held dear within their hearts.

A visitation to pay tribute to Deryck’s life will take place on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 10 am, followed by a service at 11 am. Both events will be held at Triad Cremation & Funeral Service, located at 2110 Servomation Road, Greensboro, NC 27407.

Deryck C Poyser was a man of integrity, love, and compassion. His legacy will continue through the memories shared by his family and friends. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
