Obituary

Gerald Lee McClure, 85 of Reidsville North Carolina, formerly of Kissimmee Florida,
passed away on Saturday, July 8, at Hospice of Rockingham County Gibson House.
Gerald was born April 20th 1938 son of Jay B. McClure and Lovell E (Lowery) McClure
in Moline, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Kretha Sue
(Morris) McClure, his Parents, and his brother Jay McClure Jr. He is survived by a
brother Robert McClure (Dixie), Sister-in-Law Donna McClure. His children Gerald
McClure Jr. (Yen), Cary McClure, Tina Harvey, Tammie Rasmussen (John), Troy
McClure (Amy). 11 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren.
Gerald was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he served in Korea as a
Paratrooper. He was a lifelong skilled auto mechanic. He was a Baptist and strong in his
Christian Faith. In his retirement he enjoyed working on his extensive landscape
(especially during Christmas where people looked forward to the display). He also spent
time traveling with his wife, his family and his church group. He was a dedicated
husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he will truly be missed.
Upon learning of his passing a family member commented & “He was a great man to
know and he will be a great man to have memories of”
Funeral plans will be announced at a later date

    His mother was Lovell(Lowry) I am his cousin Rovella Lovell Lowry Erker. We spent some of our youth together in Moline and Oxford Kansas and on the farm south of Oxford with his older brother Jay William and Bob McClure. great days
