Grace Dean (McCann) Brewer, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023, at Pine Ridge Health & Rehab. She was born in Wilkes County on April 16, 1940, to the late Clyde and Curtie McCann.

Grace, known for her warm heart and caring nature, touched the lives of many throughout her 83 years. After a fulfilling career, she retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco.

Outside of her professional life, Grace found immense joy in simple pleasures. She had a passion for canning vegetables and had an immense love for her tomato sandwiches. Above all, she cherished her role as a mother to her four daughters, Theresa Whisenhunt (Michael), Robin Hanna, Tammy Yarborough (Ricky), and Kelly Brown. Grace’s love extended to her seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable happiness and pride to her life.

Grace’s memory will be treasured by all those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Curtie McCann, her brothers Russell McCann, Hersel McCann, and Grant McCann, her sisters Gail Wiles and Ruth Jones, and her granddaughter Amanda Smith.

In this time of mourning, her surviving family and friends find solace in the memories they shared with Grace. The memorial service to honor her life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Hope Baptist Church located at 4872 Old Edgar Road, Sophia, NC 27350.
