Obituary

James Ray Stultz, lovingly known as Jim Ray, peacefully passed away on August 15, 2023, at the age of 60. He was born on March 17, 1963, in Rockingham County, North Carolina, and spent his entire life in the same state. Jim Ray was a dedicated Handy Man, using his skills to assist others and make their lives easier.

Outside of work, Jim Ray had a zest for life. He enjoyed attending concerts, creating cherished memories while hanging out with friends, and his greatest joy came from spending time with his children. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he treasured every moment shared with them.

Jim Ray is preceded in death by his mother, Doris Jean Roberts Stultz, his father, Buster Lee Stultz, and his sister, Debra Stultz Overby. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Ashley Stultz of Brunswick, GA, as well as Austin W. Lloyd of Eden, NC, Andrew R. Stultz of Savannah, GA, and Caitlin J. Stultz (D Boston Derst) of Savannah, GA. Jim Ray’s memory will also be cherished by his brother, Timothy W. Stultz (Teresa) of Stoneville, NC, and his nephew, Lee Stultz of Stoneville, NC. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous cousins and dear friends who will greatly miss him.

A celebration of Jim Ray’s life will be held at Freedom Park in Eden, NC, at Shelter 1 on August 26th, 2023, from 11 am to 2 pm. It will be a time for family, friends, and loved ones to come together and honor his memory, sharing stories and finding solace in one another.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Authoracare Collective in Greensboro, NC, as a tribute to Jim Ray’s memory. His life may have come to an end, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

..My heart is broken over Jim Ray’s passing. I remember our child hood growing up together., we were always together either at our house or Aunt Jean’ s or Grandma Roberts… boy did we have some times. We played.. we fought… we laughed and we were loved deeply by our families.. we children had great times.. now we will cry and remember how much Jim meant to each of us… Jim was the baby of all us grand children and I guess we all spoiled him as we grew up.. but looking back Jim was always trying to help others no matter who they were. He may not have had alot but what he had to give was the most important in God’s eyes.. that was love and serving others.. Jim will always hold a special part of my heart and I will miss him dearly.. and the most precious memories of my life is times spent on Davis Street and Jefferson St., But thank the Lord he is with Jesus and his family members there.. and we have the assurance to see Jim again .. we all have special memories of Jim that will always keep up connected. My prayers and love are with you Tim (CUZ), and with all of you children.. May God bless each one of you and give you comfort in the days to come. Love, Eugenia
