Jayme Martin

October 14, 1955 ~ August 18, 2023 (age 67)

Obituary

We are sad to announce the passing of Jayme Vestal Martin, age 67, was born in Elkin, NC to Buddy James Vestal and Emaline Mitchell Vestal October 14, 1955. Our loving heavenly Father took her home August 18, 2023 from Willow Valley after a battle of dementia.

Jayme Dawn was a beautiful person who spread joy and happiness wherever she went. You saw her frequently with her fur baby, Chloe in the backseat of her car. Oh, how she loved her Chloe!

Jayme worked at Brendle’s Inc for many years as secretary for Steve Day before being promoted to assistant buyer. She ran her Daddy’s Café “The Little Rebel” for several years where she put her love into every meal she prepared with amazing beauty presentation. Twenty years she worked at Federal Finance where she retired at the age of 62.

Jayme Dawn joined in heaven her parents, her brother’s Mark, Mike, John Mitchell (Mitch) and her fur baby, Chloe. Survived by her sister Beth Reavis, husband Zach, brother Stephen, Mitch’s fiancé Bonnie Reynolds, and extended family of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Jayme Dawn will be deeply missed while we know she is in a better place and we’ll all joined together again on that glorious day.

We want to thank Barry Bullock and Porsha Buresh with Forsyth County DSS for their assistance to Beth for Jayme. We want to thank Willow Valley staff for their care for Jayme too.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Surry Humane Society.

A celebration of life is being planned for October at Cedar Brook Country Club. Details will be shared when they are confirmed.

Jayme was a beautiful friend inside and out. She truly cared about people and she will be missed. Her smile would light up a room as well as her unique laughter. I pray for comfort and peace for her family and I am so glad that Jayme is now without the dementia that is one of the cruelest things that can happen to a person. Rest in peace my friend.

I have so many memories of Jayme. I wouldn't begin to know where to start. One of the last times I saw Jayme. Was in a store in Elkin. She was with Mitch's GF. I saw a female was just looking at me and following me. Finally came up to me and pull off her toboggan and said hey it's me Jayme. Needless to say, I was floored. And really glad she recognized me. Cause I sure didn't her. I'll never forget her beautiful smile.
