Obituary

Jeremy Ellis Fountain, 41, of Greensboro, died Saturday, June 17, 2023, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be Friday, June 23, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Suds & Duds with Cheryl Miller Stone officiating. Cremation will be by Triad Cremation & Funeral Service. 

He is survived by his mother, Teresa Blackwell Fountain of Whiteville; father, Howard Douglas Fountain of Richlands; sister, Katie Fountain and brother-in-law, Taylor Fountain of St. Pauls; nephew, Aaron Fountain of St. Pauls; aunt and uncle, Pat Fountain and John Kutsch of Richlands; aunt, Deborah Zandy of Whiteville; aunt, Deborah Blackwell of Whiteville; and an enormous heap of chosen family in the Greater Greensboro area. 

Jeremy was born and raised in Whiteville, North Carolina. After graduating from Whiteville High School, he attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. Once he moved to Greensboro, it became home. Over the span of twenty years, Jeremy cultivated friendships which built a community focused on love, music, and most of all, staying weird. Jeremy was an exceptionally talented drummer and musician, playing in numerous bands throughout his life. When Jeremy wasn’t on stage, he could often be found shooting pool with his league or in the front row listening to others jam. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeremy’s memory to a charity of your choice, especially any efforts to support the environment or music.
