Obituary

Joan Carolyn Bonney Smith, age 85, of High Point passed away April 15, 2023 at Brookdale High Point North Nursing Home.

She was born February 3, 1938 in Queens, New York the daughter of the late William Vincent Bonney and Emma Andersen Bonney. She is also preceded in death by her two brothers.

Joan enjoyed playing the piano and Bingo, doing arts and crafts and attending church. She loved spending summers at their Lake Hiawatha home and her dog Skippie.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Emma Ponzo and husband Angelo, and Carol O’Neill and husband Dan; three grandchildren, Colleen O’Neill-Cohen (Adam), Michael Ponzo (Chelsea) and Megan Ponzo; great grandchildren, Simon, Colton and Greyson; and numerous other beloved family and friends.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
