Obituary

On July 1st, 2023, Joan Malin passed away after a brief illness. She was 89 years old. A lifelong Rhode Island native for the first 70 years of her life. Joan and her late husband Robert moved to Mebane NC to be closer to some of her children in the early 2000’s. Joan was the mother of eight children. Despite her large family Joan always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family. She was a passionate nurturer whose main life focus was to provide care and love to everyone in her life especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her loss is not something you can quantify as she was the matriarch of her family and the glue that kept everyone together. She will be missed greatly but we know she is now taking care of her loved ones yet again in heaven.

Joan was predeceased by her husband’s Robert Malin and Thomas Perrino Sr, and by her son Scott Perrino . She is survived by her 7 surviving children, Thomas Perrino Jr, Mark Perrino, Gary Perrino (Sharon), Jeffery Perrino, Kim Perrino, Eric Perrino (Crystal), and Jodie Perrino along with many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Maria’s Italian Restaurant, 162 Holly Hill Lane, Burlington, NC 27215.
