Obituary

John Michael Lidji, 84, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2023, in Greensboro, NC.

Born on June 10, 1938, in Paris, France, John came to the United States with his mother, Lena in 1941.  He was a 1956 graduate of High Point High School in Beltsville, MD, and served in the United States Air Force. In 1962, he married his wife of 38 years, the late Patricia Elaine Marlowe Lidji from Boiling Springs, SC, and considered her family his own. John had a career primarily in sales in the Maryland/DC area to provide for his family and always put his wife and children above himself. John had a wonderful sense of humor and loved his family deeply.  

After retiring, John moved to Greensboro, NC, where he continued to cherish his children and grandchildren. There he met his girlfriend Gwen Willard, who provided him with 18 years of love, travel, and laughter. He also loved watching old movies, playing games on his iPad and trying to engage us in a political debate.

John is survived by his children Joelle Madeleine Hardcastle (Mark) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Janine Marie Carter (Murray) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Patrick Marlow Lidji of Odenton, MD; grandchildren Michael Breen, Colin Breen, Taylor Fucini, Nicholas Fucini and Kaiden Lidji; and girlfriend, Gwen Willard.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his mother, Lena S Blankin and sister, Madeleine R Lidji.

A memorial gathering will take place at a later date.
