Obituary

Jon Allison Dixon, age 74, passed away on July 5, 2023. He courageously fought a year-long battle with lung cancer.

Jon was a “Jon-of-all-trades,” having worked as the General Manager of car dealerships such as Vann York Honda and Jack Pickard Volvo, as an Assistant Store Manager at Home Depot, and most recently as the Facilities Manager of Chick-Fil-A at Friendly Center. Jon was also a man of faith, having served as Head Trustee of Morehead United Methodist Church for more than five years. In his free time, he could be found spending time with his family, working in his yard, fishing, or volunteering for the American Red Cross. Second to his family, his proudest accomplishment was having served his country in the United States Navy as a medic at Balboa Medical Hospital.

Surviving him is his wife of 38 years, Renee, son Jonathan and wife Jennifer, son Jason and wife Crissie, and daughter Meredith and partner Archer. Jon has four wonderful grandchildren, Parker, Reagan, Brady, and Harley. Jon also has two brothers, twin brother Robert and younger brother Tod. He has five nieces and nephews, Kathryn, Billy, Allison, Michael, and Stephen. Jon was preceded in death by his parents, John and Kathleen.

Jon will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Morehead United Methodist Church, 3214 Horse Pen Creek Road, Greensboro, NC 27410. Triad Cremation & Funeral Service, 2110 Servomation Road, Greensboro, North Carolina 27407, is assisting the family.
