Joyce Rooker passed away on June 28th at Moses Cone hospital. Joyce was born on April 29th 1950 in Warrenton, NC. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, her dogwood trees, feeding the hummingbirds, her windchimes and her soap operas.
Preceded in death by her father, John Clifton “Bill” Brantley and her mother, Florence Lane Lynch Brantley “Momma Lane”. She was also preceded in death by a brother Robert Hunter Brantley(Pam).
Surviving family includes Her husband of 52 years, John Thomas Rooker. Two daughters: Valerie, Amy. Seven grandchildren: Katelyn, Victoria, Austin, Brandon, Myranda (Valerie), Layana, Demetreyus (Amy). 4 great-grandchildren: Kira, Lucas, Dominick, Dakoda (Katelyn). Her brothers, James (Pat), Tommy (Crystal), Steven (Ronda), Sister, Debra Carter (Sam). Sisters-in-law, Pam Brantley and Patricia Freeman (Mike Freeman) and brother-in-law, Stewart Rooker. As well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
