Vergie, I am so sad to hear about Joyce's illness and passing.  I missed both of you at the Easter MO reunion.  Joyce was such a sweet person, and you are also.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  May peace and comfort be your constant companion as you adjust to this tremendous loss in your family circle.   Love, MO "sister" Colleen

    Virginia (Jenny) Smith Jackson says:
Vergie, I missed you and Joyce at the reunion and wanted to know why you weren't there. I am so sorry! Joyce was one of my MO Classmates. Encouraging words to all Believers from I Thessalonians 4:16-18: "For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore (comfort) encourage each other with these words." NIV) The coming of the Lord is a certainty! Praise God for this promise!

Dear Cousins, I don't know if you remember me well or not...it has been many years since we have seen each other.  I was so sorry to hear of Aunt Vera Joyce's death.  She was such a sweet, sweet lady and I have fond memories of her.  I received the news of her passing through cousin Kelli Stone Beckham and I am so glad she was able to contact me.  I was hoping the funeral would have been scheduled for Saturday (I am a teacher and now is a difficult time of the school year to take off time) as I really would have liked to have attended.  My brothers Tim and Mark (both retired) would have come with me as well.  I couldn't help but tear up when I saw her picture on the memorial page as she reminded me so much of my Daddy, your Uncle Mamers.  I always thought she was so pretty and very elegant.  I have fond memories of coming to visit your family with Uncle Clyde when I was a student at UNCG.  He would come visit me at least one Sunday a month, take me out for lunch and we would often come to Kernersville to see you all.  Do you remember? I last saw your Mother in June of 2011 when she, Aunt Vergie Mae, and Aunt Norma Jean came to my Mother's funeral.  It meant so much to all of us to have them there at that time.  They stayed for lunch afterward and we enjoyed reminiscing so much.  I am so sorry she was sick for a time before her death but we can all trust she is in a better place now.  Please know that you have all been in my thoughts and prayers.  I wish the Jeffries family could have a reunion some time so we could reconnect. Sincerely, Brona Jeffries Butler Goldsboro, NC
