Judy Smith Beaver
June 5, 1946 – Aug 6, 2023

Judy Smith Beaver, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and best friend to many, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on August 6, 2023.

Judy had a ready smile for everyone and she never met a stranger. She played piano and organ for many churches throughout her life starting at 16 years old. She participated in the music program at every church she attended (choir, handbells, you name it…) at St. Enoch (Kannapolis), Good Hope (Hickory), Good Shepherd (Swansea, SC), Ebenezer (Marion VA), Lebanon (Shenandoah, VA), Lebanon (Cleveland, NC) Holly Grove (Lexington), Cobles (Greensboro), Holy Trinity (Wytheville, VA). She loved all kinds of music and even tolerated Buddy’s country music. She was the love of his life for 57 years.

Judy graduated from South Rowan High School in 1964 and Evans Business College in 1965. She was a medical assistant for 14 years, Citizen Federal Savings for 4 years, Susan Frey Lawyer for 3 years, Booth-Harrington Law Firm for 3 years, and Shepherd’s Center of Greensboro for 14 years.

Judy left behind her husband of 57 years, Buddy Beaver; son Jerry L Beaver and wife Tracy of Flagstaff, AZ; daughter Nicole Rowland and granddaughter Ivy Guerrero of Los Angeles, CA; brother Jerry Smith and wife Adrian of Denmark, SC; sister Donna Lambert and husband Jerry of Kannapolis, NC; sister Karen Walter and husband Mike of Concord, NC; honorary granddaughter Britnee Ann of Greensboro. Judy also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews and her aunt Nancy Karriker of Kannapolis, NC. And many, many more close friends.

Judy was preceded by her parents Ralph and Dot Smith.

Judy will be dearly missed by those who loved her. She had the gift to make you feel better just by talking to her and she gave the warmest and most comforting hugs. Let’s all remember her for that love and warmth that she gave freely to all.

Her memorial service will be held at St. Enoch Lutheran Church, 701 Campbell Ave
Kannapolis, NC 28081 on Wednesday, August 9th. The family is receiving from 1-2pm and services will start at 2pm.
