    Christmas Eve, 2015Laura, sweetheart, I am at my desk on what is now the second Christmas since God called you Home. You were, and will always remain, "the love of my life"... and there is no one I'd rather be with tonight, tomorrow (Christmas Day), or any other day, than you. As you said in one of your little notes while in Italy, summer 2013, "We have been thru a lot together, pretty amazing I think." How true, yet understatedly prophetic, that seems now... and how I long to recapture our love and times together. The thought that you are no longer "here", is one that I can but barely accept, if at all, yet the Serenity Prayer that we spoke so many times stands out, now, in a way that is so hauntingly special: "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change... the courage to change the things I can... and the wisdom to know the difference.""Merry Christmas", Sweetheart.     Correction of date: this photo (duplicate shown) was actually made on Oct. 20, 2012, near Hampstead, NC. We were down for a friend's daughter's wedding in that general area, and caravanned (Laura and I) all the way down with the bike, and clothes/gear in her SUV. Wonderful times remembered so tenderly, now.

    Laura in Slovenia or Italy, late June, 2013. This was a business trip of nearly two weeks duration, as she visited fine furniture manufacturers/craftsmen in these two countries. I love this particular photo. And I love my Laura, and always will.
