Leon Euegen Medley

Obituary

Leon Eugene Medley Sr was one of the kindest, loving, and most honest and loyal men that have ever walked this earth.

Born on January 17th, 1965, in Stanly County North Carolina, to Henrietta Parker Medley and William E. Medley Sr. Leon was the eldest child to five brothers and four sisters and was everything anyone could ask for in a big brother, always there when you needed him and willing to give you the shirt off his back. Splitting his childhood between NJ and NC he graduated from Albemarle High School. After high school, he spent a short time in college but returned home to help raise his brothers and take care of his mother.

Leon was the father of three beautiful children. Lamesha L Medley, Leon E Medley Jr, and Shaniqua Y. Medley (D) As a father his love knew no bounds and he loved each of his kids in a way that made each of us feel known, loved, seen, and heard.

He was a friend like no other. Always willing to help and never expect anything back in return. He always said, “I can only control how I treat people”. And he showed us that time and time again in how he treated his friends.

As a Husband, he was an example of how to love your wife, the love he shared on this earth was magnificent and truly a gift to witness. Married on May 31st, 1999, to the love of his life Eureka Yevetta Thomas Medley, the loved that they created will live on forever, truly becoming one in life and in glory.

Leon leaves behind one granddaughter Aniylah L Diggs a host of relatives.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Love and Faith Christian Fellowship, 4344 Blackberry Road, Greensboro, NC 27406, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a celebration of Mr. Medley's life. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery,  3901 Forest Lawn Drive, Greensboro, NC 27455.
