Michael Wayne Young

August 8, 1953 ~ April 30, 2015 (age 61)

Michael Wayne Young, age 61, passed over into Heaven on Thursday, April 30th at his loving home with his precious poodles on the bed and family at the bedside.

"Mike" grew up in Walkertown and graduated from East Forsyth in 1972 and had already enlisted in the Air Force. In 1976, he was hired by B/E Aerospace, Inc. where he remained a loyal employee 36 1/2 years, with a grand work ethic and love for his fellow co-worker.

As Mike's wife, I need to say that I have never live and loved as I did during the years with him. I married my best friend. He and I always told our friends, "if you can have what we have just once in your lifetime- you are truly blessed."

Mike walked the aisle to the alter several years ago and gave his life to Jesus Christ-which made his life even sweeter than he ever imagined.

He loved our rescue doggies, yardwork, and cars!!

Mike leaves behind his loving wife, Linda; daughters, Ashley and Tammy; grandchildren he adored- who were all completely involved in his care and comfort- until his last breath on earth.

Every wish he made was fulfilled, including a final trip to the Great Smokey Mountains on Easter weekend.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date and everyone will be notified by personal calls and/or newspaper.

Mike encouraged peace and happiness and living each day as if it is your last- he said to send blessings to all, as he helped write this obituary.

Blessings to all.

    Tammy Phillips-Orrell says:
As I sit here to write this I'm wondering what Daddy Mike would have me to say. I have no tears, for I shed those while he was here. I mourn the loss of him, but praise our Almighty God that He knew when Daddy Mike could take no more suffering.  I am at peace, not because he's gone because I will miss him everyday...but at peace knowing that he hurts no longer, he walks with God, he's in the arms and loving care of those loved ones gone on before us. I will miss my fast car, criminal mind watching, funny, kind-hearted buddy that taught me to work on cars, never take a day for granted, laugh at the little things, and to forgive and forget no matter how hard. You Daddy Mike were loved by many. You will truly be missed.....John 14:27- Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  Rest in Peace Daddy Mike... I will meet you at the river...Love, Two-Two

Dear Mike.....I believe the greatest thing we can do as human beings is to make someone else's life better. Its not about money or material wealth. Its about lending a hand to someone in need, helping someone through a difficult time, or just being there as a friend. Your life was the definition of those words. You helped so many people.....my mom, Tammy and the boys, and myself in more ways than I can express in words. Thank you for all you did to make our lives better through your hard work and sacrifice.I guess when someone passes the highest compliment that can be said is he was a good man. You were and will always be a good man. Rest in peace my friend.I love you and will miss you dearly.

Ashley Young Dillon, Steven Dillon, and Children says:
Daddy, Your battle is now over Daddy, no more tears flowing down your cheek, no more pain, no more suffering, now you are no longer weak. I still do not understand why this had to happen to you. I have cried since the day you closed your eyes and said goodbye. Now you are my Angel, so spread your wings and fly....and wrap them around me when you see me cry. Our time together was memorable and God took you way to fast. I will always love you Daddy. Love, Your Pooh bear, Steven, Carly, Mason, and Gage

    Debbie Johnson says:
Linda and family Mike was a dear friend and could make a room light up when he entered. You never knew what he was going to say but you could rest assure it would make you laugh. I feel like I was his sister because he told me so many stories good and bad of his life. He struggled in his younger years, but so glad he found love and happiness with his wife Linda. He loved his children and grandchildren  with all his heart.  He was a unique person, one of a kind. I use to tell him when God made you he threw away the mold. He loved his B/E Aersopace family and missed working with them after  leaving work for his disability. I am so glad Mike found the Lord. His memories will forever be in my heart. I love you Mike. Rest high on that mountain. ?? Debbie Johnson

I was saddened to learn of Mike's death.  We went to high school together - and while I haven't seen him since school, I've thought about him over the years.  My prayers to his family during this time of great sadness.     Jesus said, "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

    Joe & Debby Loggins says:
Linda, Joe & I were so sad to hear of Mike's passing.  We were childhood friends and we attended school with Mike through high school.  I grew up on Forest Valley Drive where Mike lived with his mom, stepdad and sister, Robin.  There are many East Forsyth friends who thought so much of Mike and I know that they, like us, would like to attend the memorial service. We will be keeping you and your family in our prayers.   Joe & Debby Loggins
