Patty Hester Thacker, age 76, of Walnut Cove passed away May 12, 2023.

She was born February 23, 1947 the daughter of the late William Carl Hester Sr and Doris Tuttle Hester. She is also preceded in death by her brother, William C. Hester Jr;  and brother-in-law, Robert W. White.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling on cruise ships. Patty was always a hard worker and loved to be of service to others. She held administrative positions at Brenner Industries, Continental Can, Sammy Phillips Electric, and JDL Castle. She preferred a busy work schedule and added part-time retail sales positions at Dillard's and Macy's in Winston -Salem.

For seven years, she resided in Hilton Head Island, SC where she was the Store Manager of S.M. Bradford and Currents. There, she embraced sharing her sense of fashion and style. In addition, she was an Administrative Secretary at Digital Marketing Group.

Some of Patty's happiest moments were spent shopping, dancing, and listening to live music, especially beach music.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Judy Hester White; brother, James Henry Hester; nieces, Velinda White Stowman and Beverly Hester Kingsbury; nephews, Brian Hester and Richard White; special friends, John Craig and Pam Moorefield; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

In her memory, a gathering of friends and family will take place on June 16th from 7pm-9pm at Kernersville Community Center.
