Obituary

Richard K. Noah, lovingly known as Rick, bid farewell to this world on August 10, 2023, after a valiant battle with a stroke and viral pneumonia. He was born on May 9, 1947, which means he lived a remarkable life for 76 incredible years.

Rick’s journey began in Guilford County, North Carolina, but his impact reached far and wide. He dedicated 20 years of his life to serving and protecting as a Police Officer for the Greensboro Police Department, mentoring rookie officers with an unwavering commitment to excellence. His dedication and passion made him an exemplary Training Officer, shaping the future of law enforcement in our community.

Never one to shy away from new adventures, Rick also embraced the somber task of the Funeral Director. For 17 years, he compassionately served the Greensboro and Pleasant Garden communities, guiding families through their darkest hours with grace and empathy.

This man of many hats, or rather uniforms, was a proud veteran of the US Navy, serving his country during the tumultuous times of the Vietnam War. His bravery and sacrifice will forever be remembered.

Rick leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Betty R. Noah, who stood by his side through thick and thin. His sons Joseph “Jody” Noah, Paul F. Noah, his granddaughter Cheyenne Noah, and family member and friend JoEllen Barley, will forever carry his spirit in their hearts.

Rick joins his loved ones who have gone before him, including his grandparents Harvey and Myrtle Frazier, his mother Corinna “Rene” Noah Brewer, his father Frank Noah, his brother Charles F. Noah, and his half-sister Virginia “Ginger” Brewer.

In honor of Rick’s vibrant life, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 2 pm at the Greensboro Police Club. It will be a time to remember, rejoice, and share stories of the remarkable man who touched so many lives.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Hospice of the Piedmont for the unwavering love, care, and support they provided during Rick’s final journey. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice or any Animal Rescue of your choice, as Rick always had a soft spot for our furry friends.

Rick Noah was a man of courage, dedication, and compassion. He lived his life in service to others, leaving an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. As we say our farewells, let us remember the wit and charm that accompanied him throughout his life, and may his legacy continue to inspire us all.

Triad Cremation and Funeral Service in Greensboro is assisting the family.
