Obituary

The beacon of light shone a little brighter on Saturday, April 29th, 2023, as Rosemary Boris made her way to the shores of Heaven. She is now our eternal lighthouse who will guide us through the rest of our journey in life.

Surrounded by loved ones, Rosemary passed peacefully at age 72 in Lexington, NC, where she resided since 2016. Born Rosemary Strenkoski on November 26, 1950, she was raised in Llewellyn before moving to St. Clair.

In her early years, she worked at Gold Mills, Pine Grove and many will remember her as a fun-loving red-headed waitress for several local restaurants back in the day. She also worked as a lunch lady at St. Nicholas Catholic School while where her children attended. She was co-owner of Boris's Cafe in St. Clair from 1976 to its closing in 1980. She was also co-owner of St. Clair Gas Co. and Rose's Catering. She will be most remembered for her delicious cooking and amazing city chicken.

Rosemary loved the beach and had an obsession with lighthouses. She also loved visiting the casinos in Atlantic City.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Frank Boris Jr; her parents, Mary (Pellish) Strenkoski and Walter Strenkoski Sr. ; a sister Alice Rodnick, and four brothers, Walter "Corky" Strenkoski Jr., Michael Strenkoski, Robert Strenkoski and Ronald "John" Strenkoski.

She will now watch over her children: Jody Kuperavage of Port Carbon; Jaime Newcomer (husband Bill) of York; Frank Boris III (wife April) of Lexington, NC; and Amanda Boris of New Minersville. She is also survived by a brother, Daniel Strenkoski of Moon Lake.

She was lovingly known as Nanny Rosie to her grandchildren whom she adored; James, Christopher and Emily Rose Kuperavage; Brayden Hodgson; Madison and Michael Boris; Gabriella Angelo and Whitney Devitt.

At her request, there will be no services. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Triad Cremation & Funeral Service of Greensboro NC. Please sign the guestbook at www.triadfuneralservice.com

Nanny rose always checked up on me, even after i left the family. She was an absolute riot, and really knew how to make you feel like part of the family. Although I never got the pleasure of going to the casino with her, I'm sure she's living her best life in the casino in the clouds! She'll definitely be missed by many, regardless of if she really knew how loved she was. Rest in peace nanny, I'll miss your random messages
