GREENSBORO – REV. RUSSELL C. MOYER SR. WENT HOME to be with his Lord on March 13, 2015, passing away peacefully at the Beacon Place Hospice in Greensboro, NC.Russ was born January 17, 1931 in Reading, PA to Charles & Kathryn Moyer. He graduated from Reading High School and received his biblical and pastoral training in the early 1960's.Russ' first call to the ministry was the First Baptist Church in Harmony ME. He also served faithfully at the Payson Park Evangelical Free Church in Portland ME, First Baptist Church in Georgetown MA, Maranatha Baptist Church in Kingston NH, and also served as an interim pastor in many churches prior to his final calling at Rolling Roads Baptist Church in Greensboro NC where he served until his retirement in 2014.

Russ was married for over 65 years to his dear wife, Ruth. Together they raised 6 children. Four daughters: Karen Moyer, Susan Forsyth & husband David, Kathy Maxwell & her husband Nate, Patricia Ardvidson & her husband Lars. Two Sons: Russell Moyer Jr. & his wife Ginny, Jeffrey Moyer & his wife Christine.Grandchildren: Michael Williams Jr. & his wife Stacy, Stephanie Williams & her partner Marshall Tillett, Lauren Aldrich & her husband Eric, Scott Forsyth & his wife Natalie, Kevin Moyer & his wife Melissa, Bret Moyer & his wife Shauna, Cam Moyer, Erik Ardvidson & his wife Jennifer, Hannah Trombly & her husband Alex, Trey Ardvidson, Tracie Billsen & her husband Paul, and Rachel Moyer.Great grandchildren: Michaela, Lincoln, & Simon Williams, Kayla Williams, Marshall Tillett, Regan & Bryony Moyer, Jacob Ardvidson, Brody & Quinn Billsen, and Kynlee Jones.He is also survived by his brother Ken & his wife Maureen, and his sister Edna Davis.

He is predeceased by his granddaughter Elizabeth Maxwell and his sister Janet Mattern.Russell served on the Harmony ME Volunteer Fire Department & was a member of Erie 4 Fire Association serving the town of Georgetown MA. He also served as the Chaplain for the East Kingston NH Fire Department.Russ leaves a legacy of serving the Lord, his people, and loving his family to the very end. He will truly be missed by all.
