Sophia Little, cherished mother and sister, departed peacefully on September 10, 2023 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, NC. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Sophia was born July 30, 1967 in High Point, North Carolina. She was known affectionately as Sophie or Ladybug. She was the daughter of James Walter Sr. and Loretta Gaines Little, who preceded in death.
Sophia was a graduate of Ragsdale High School in Jamestown, NC and later attended Leon Beauty School for cosmetology. She was a former flight attendant for several years. At her untimely passing, Sophia was a full time student at Guilford Technical Community College obtaining her associate’s degree in healthcare.
Sophia had an ardent appreciation for the arts. She had a keen eye for interior design, a passion for photography and a love of horticulture. Although she was best known for her incredible culinary skills. Sophia was an excellent baker and could cook dishes ranging from southern classics to international fare. She was a voracious film buff, her VHS and DVD collection was immense. A globe trekker at heart she was always seeking a new destination to discover. Sophia had a wicked sense of humor and no filter, making others laugh was second nature to her. Yet, her most endearing quality was her big heart. She was willing to give her last to anyone in need, whether it be family, friend, or stranger.
She is survived by her son Channing K. Mack of Charlotte, NC. 2 sisters, Felecia (Lisa) Little of Knightdale, NC, Coretta W. Little of Matthews, NC and 1 brother James J. (Amy) Little of Whitsett, NC. As well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss her.
