Obituary

Sophie Rodete went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on January 14, 2014.  Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.

She was a member of the Dormition of the Theotokos Church and Philoptohos society (“friends of the poor”). She founded their annual Craft fair and had been an avid Teddy Bear crafter. She had also been president of the Waterbury Church Chapter of the Daughters of Penelope.   She loved working with children, had a giving heart, and will be missed by family and friends.

Sophie is survived by her loving husband, John Rodete; daughter, Elaine Porter and grandchildren, Abigail and Joshua Porter. She was predeceased by her son, Dionysius.

A memorial service will be held 3:00PM, Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 5736 Inman Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410. Cremation service entrusted to Triad Cremation Society & Chapel.
