Obituary

Vodra LeRoy Jackson was born October 18, 1962, in High Point, NC to the late Eddie and Signora Jackson. Along with his parents, Vodra is proceeded in death by his nephew Michael Davis, Sr.

Vodra attended High Point College and GTCC. He boxed at Joe Bland and High Point Police Boxing Centers. He held various jobs including working at several High Point furniture companies and at High Point Memorial Hospital. His childhood dream was to have his own gym and teach martial arts and boxing classes for young people and elders to protect themselves. He also loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. Even though he didn’t always show his emotions, he loved his family more than anything. He will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Bryana Jackson and Matthew Basden, and his siblings Dimetris Jackson, Napoleon (Marion) Gainey, Allen Gainey (Donna Allison),  Marcus Jackson (Angelena Wolfe), Troy (Tonja) Jackson, Anthony Gainey (Sherry Pride) and Teresa Gainey. He also leaves behind a host of other family and friends.

I just heard, as far as a memory, I remember you and I as young adults driving up and down Merrideth for hours just playing rock-n-roll cassettes. Rest in peace my friend and to Dee and the entire family, my sincere condoleces.
